Fortnite Sets Concurrent Player Record

Apex Legends is not killing Fortnite.

EA's Apex Legends has suddenly appeared to compete with Fortnite earlier this month. The game garnered reportedly 25 million players in the first week. Despite the new competitor in the battle royal space, Fortnite is not suffering. On Saturday, Feb. 16, Fortnite set a new concurrent player record with 7.6 million according to Polygon. There was no special event, just a normal battle day. The Marshmello concert has generated over 10.7m concurrent users.

With Fortnite not slowing down and Apex Legends exponential growth, who is still playing other games? The battle royale genre is hurting the rest of the video game franchises. If the trend continues game makers have to concentrate on kids that are too young or not allowed to play Fortnite to survive.

Fortnite Battle Royale is a free 100-player PvP mode in Fortnite. One giant map. A battle bus. Fortnite building skills and destructible environments combined with intense PvP combat. The last one standing wins. Available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS and Mac.
