Samsung Bends Smartphone Around Your Wrist

New patent shows a smartphone that can be worn on the wrist.

Samsung continues to innovate with flexible displays. The Galaxy Fold is just the beginning. A new patent surfaced that shows a design for a smartphone that can be bent around your wrist. This is not a new idea. Back in 2016 a Chinese company showed a wrist smartphone based on a Graphene display.

The Samsung patent details how the case of the smartphone can be bent. Small joints along the edges make that possible. Not every area bends along the way. While there are bendable batteries, Samsung seems to not want to bend the chips. Also, the cameras sit in the stiff area of the bendable smartphone.

Dutch site LetsGoDigital spotted this new Samsung patent here. They also created a bunch of renders that show how the Samsung Galaxy Wrist could look like.

The Galaxy Fold launches on April 26. When and if Samsung is making a slap on Smartphone remains to be seen.
