Animal Rescuers found dozens of neglected little dogs in a house in Austria.

Scruff-a-luvs plush toys were a hot Holiday toy last season. Kids have to care for the plush pets before they look cute and pretty. Now animal rescuers had to care for 68 real "Scruff-a-luvs." Famous Austrian animal rescue organization Gut Aiderbichl was called to a house in Austria to rescue 68 little dogs, mostly Chihuahua and Shih Tzu mixed breeds. The lived in a total mess and had not much space.

Their fur was covered in dog poop and many had injuries. Like the Scruff-A-Luvs plush toys, the little dogs needed a bath. As the number of the rescued dogs was so high, the effort to clean them all up and care for their health was a huge effort. The cost for the initial care was about $45,000.

You can see each of the rescued dogs on the Gut Aiderbichl site, where you can symbolically adopt the dogs and support the organization. The video below (in German) shows that some of the rescued dogs have already recovered from their ordeal.
