Amazon Prime Day 2019 Set to Shatter Records

Prime Day 2019 in July will again be bigger than Black Friday.

The Amazon Prime Day 2019 will be again the biggest shopping day in the history of Amazon. Prime Day is setting sales records for Jeff Bezos' online giant every year. Amazon said about last year's Prime Day: "Sales this Prime Day surpassed Cyber Monday, Black Friday, and the previous Prime Day, when comparing 36-hour periods.

The three major reasons why Prime Day is every year becoming the biggest sales day in Amazon's history include:

1. Number of Prime members

The number of Amazon Prime members keeps rising each year. As of January 2019, Amazon is estimated (source) to have over 100 million Prime members in the United States alone. More members means more sales. As the Prime Day deals are exclusive to Prime members, consumers must have a membership to ship. Being a paid member is a motivation to score deals on Prime Day to make good on the annual fee for Prime.

2. More Amazon devices

Each year Amazon expands its product portfolio of devices. Amazon devices are among the best deals to score on Prime Day and each year the Amazon devices are the best-selling producs. Last year the Echo Dot and Fire TV Stick topped the list of best-seller world-wide.

3. No competition

Unlike Black Friday or Cyber Monday, Amazon does not have to compete with other stores on Prime Day. Major retailers try to counter Prime Day with deals, but they don't have by far not the relevance as on Black Friday.

Amazon has not announced yet when Prime Day 2019 will take place, but it will happen and it will be again bigger than ever before.

Prime Day 2019 requires an Amazon Prime membership, available here. We will update this post as soon as the details about Amazon Prime Day 2019 become available.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2019?

Amazon has not announced a date, but it will be in July. Last year Prime Day began on Monday, July 16 through July 17. The Prime Day sale lasted 36 hours last year. We forecast that Prime Day 2019 begins on Monday, July 15 and will at least last for 36 hours.
