Nike’s Unlikely Transformation into a Tech Brand

What is Nike Fit?

Companies either innovate in the face of change, or they are no longer viable companies. That has been the hard and fast rule that is even more applicable in the modern day. There are two ways that this technology can be accessed. There is an in-store application where the user stands on a pad and has their feet measure, or the individuals can use a smartphone app from home.

The scan of your feet tells you the exact size and shape of your feet and then allows you to shop for the shoes you want. The data collected by the scan allows you to get a fit that is perfect for all shoes under the Nike brand. You might fit Nike Air in a size 13, but collective data from other clients could suggest that the Nike React would best fit you in a size 12. This can be applied to all of their shoes, aiding the company and the customer.

What Does This Mean for the Nike Brand?

One might think that the only ones that are benefitting from this setup are the customers of Nike, but the company’s innovation into technology is providing them benefits as well. The company is able to service their clients better, giving them a fit that is truly unbeatable. By doing this, the brand is getting better recognition and reviews. However, they are also reducing the number of returns they get, reducing the number of problems that customers have with the fit, and saving on shipping as well. That sort of innovation saves money and puts Nike in a better position compared with their rivals.

Nike is undergoing some major changes in order to remain on the top of the sales for shoes, but they are also expanding into other areas of technology to support their sales. They are making it easier for people to find their personalized fit from home, offer the user the best options, and making it easier to look through the entire Nike catalogue for the perfect pair. Show and tech aficionados are celebrating this outcome. Getting the best shoe fit according to hard data is putting Nike farther out of reach for their competition, and they did it through innovative technology rather than resting on their laurels.
