Get to live your mermaid fantasy!

Following days of speculation, EA has officially launched a trailer for a new Sims 4 expansion pack, called "Island Living."

It comes just days after Sims Community spotted a listing by Nordic retailer Pan Vision of “The Sims 4 Island Living.” The website noted that Pan Vision previously listed The Sims 4 Get Famous and The Sims 4 Seasons ahead of EA and Maxis’ official announcement.

In May, Sims Community also spotted a listing for “The Sims 4 Tropical Paradise” on Dutch website

In The SIms team’s official trailer posted on YouTube, the description says:

“Escape the ordinary and enjoy a laid-back lifestyle surrounded by beaches in The Sims 4 Island Living! Explore a breezy world drenched in sun, sand, and endless fun as your Sims make their own paradise.”

It shows Sims hanging out in a tropical beach, laying on the sand, driving jet skis and children playing around. It also shows close encounters with the marine life including dolphins and fishes. The most striking part of the video shows some Sims banding together to pick up trash that are scattered along the shore, transforming the island into a paradise.

The video ended with one of the lead characters — who initiated the cleanup drive — walking to the ocean and turning into a mermaid!

According to Sims Community, The Sims 4 Island Living is tipped to be heavily influenced by Polynesian culture with Polynesian-inspired clothing, accessories, hairstyles and Build/Buy decor.

The community page says the island will be called Sulani, a fully residential world that is more than just a vacation destination. Sulani will be home to an active volcano that can erupt at times.

According to a press release from EA, players can trade in their busy city life in exchange for a laid-back lifestyle on the island of Sulani.

"With Island Living, the development team wanted to give players the chance to escape with their Sims to a peaceful, unique paradise and truly connect with nature,” Mike Duke, The Sims 4 senior producer, said in a statement.

“This expansion will enable fans and their Sims to find their bliss, whether it is relaxing under a palm tree on the beach, befriending a mermaid along the coral reefs, or protecting the Sulani environment and ensuring that the island becomes more beautiful than ever,” Duke added.

EA also confirmed in its official announcement that Sims can go for conservationist careers or become lifeguards or fishermen.

The expansion pack will be available for pre-order on June 21 for PC and Mac, and on July 16 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

To coincide with the official launch of The Sims 4 Island Living, EA also announced a partnership with the It Gets Better Prohect, an LGBT+Q non-profit organization and global movement. Starting June 18, players will be able to get exclusive It Gets Better and pride in-game clothing in The Sims 4 on PC, The Sims FreePlay and The Sims Mobile.

EA also hinted at future features in The Sims 4, including the Moschino Stuff Pack, featuring items from the real life Moschino X The Sims Capsule Collection, as well as The Sims 4 Realm of Magic Game Pack, which is expected to be revealed later this year.
