Dota 2 Battle Pass owners will be able to play the game on beta starting today.

American video game developer Valve Corp., the company behind Steam, has finally named its own version of Auto Chess for Dota 2 almost four weeks after announcing its plan.

Dota Underlords, as the game will be called, is a standalone version of the Dota Auto Chess. In a press release announcing the name of the game, Valve said its team has been running a friends and family beta of Dota Underlords. Valve is expanding the beta to include all Dota 2 Battle Pass owners, allowing the developers to test its servers as it prepares for open beta in the coming weeks.

The beta testing of the game for Dota 2 Battle Pass holders will allow them to play online against seven other players and practice offline against a lineup of advanced bots from easy to hardcore level. Beta testers can also play together against bots or other players.

Battle Pass owners can find a link to add Dota Underlords to their Steam library on the Dota 2 dashboard, Valve said.

When Valve launches open beta, all Steam players will be available to access the game for free on Windows, Mac, and Linux, Android and iOS. The game will also offer ranked matchmaking, cross-play across all devices and rank progression shared across all devices.

Players can submit feedback to the Valve team while playing on open beta.

The game was made possible after Valve reached out to Drodo Studio, the creators of Dota Auto Chess, to work on Dota Underlords.

“Dota 2 exists because a group of us here at Valve couldn’t stop playing the original mod,” Valve said at the time.

Valve is also the studio behind the Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Portal, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress and Left 4 Dead games. The company has yet to release a trailer for the Dota Underlords.
