A Samsung executive said the display problems "have been ironed out."

After being pushed back for a couple of months, Samsung’s first ever foldable phone could finally hit the markets soon as Samsung Electronics has recently hinted at a possible launch soon.

The South Korean tech giant hit a snag with the Galaxy Fold after multiple reviews of the phone by some tech bloggers and journalists found major weaknesses in the phone, including flickering screens and creases in the middle of the screen after repeated folds.

Samsung, on its website, said the creases at the center of the main screen “is a natural characteristic of the screen.”

At an event held by industry organization The Korean Information Display Society on June 18 in Seoul, Samsung Display Vice President Kim Seong-cheol told participants that “Most of the display problems have been ironed out, and the Galaxy Fold is ready to hit the market.” The event was covered by Korean news outlet The Investor.

Samsung Display is a unit of Samsung Electronics that supplies the folding screen.

The Galaxy Fold was initially set to be rolled out to some markets, including the U.S., on April 26 for about $1,980. However, Samsung has not come out with a certain date for the expected release despite saying earlier that it would announce a date.

The Investor said the Galaxy Fold is rumored to be launched in July before Samsung unveils its flagship, the Galaxy Note 10. However, Samsung has denied the speculation.

The news outlet said according to Kim, “The Galaxy Fold, when released, will receive a lot of attention in the market,” predicting that display technology will play a core part in the 5G era.

The report came shortly after CNET, citing people familiar with the company's plans, reported that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 10 at an “Unpacked” event on August 7 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where the company launched the Note 9 last year. However, the tech news site said Samsung declined to comment on the matter.

I4U recently reported that Samsung could get rid of the headphone jack and physical buttons for the Note 10. The company could make up for it with four cameras and a big battery capacity.
