Free users will also get access to up to 2,210 music loops at zero cost.

Soundtrap, a software that lets you create your own music and podcast, said the free version of its platform will now let users create and save as many projects as they want at no cost.

The company, which Spotify acquired in 2017, is a cloud-based audio recording software that provides an easy-to-use music and audio creation platform for individuals who are looking to produce their own demos of songs and podcasts without needing the support of a traditional audio producer.

The platform even lets users connect with other people, allowing them to collaborate on a song or podcast using any connected device. It offers a range of solutions for musicians and storytellers, such as the autotune feature that lets users modify the pitch of their voice recordings; the amplifier tool, through which a user can connect their microphone, guitar or any instrument; pattern beatmakers, as well as over 4,000 loops and presets for paid members.

Soundtrap used to only allow free users to store five projects. The tech company said it is now expanding the unlimited storage offering beyond its paying subscribers. Additionally, free users will also have access to up to 2,210 free music loops in the platform.

“Any creator will now be able to store all their great ideas. They can keep them around for future reference and then share them with friends to collaborate or edit them as suits their needs,” Soundtrap managing director Per Emanuelsson said in a statement.

Soundtrap’s move mirrors that of its parent company Spotify, which last year revised its free tier offering.

“We're joining Spotify's lead in improving what's available to those who use our basic, no-fee product,” Emanuelsson added.

In addition to the unlimited storage feature, Soundtrap also announced a new tool that users can utilize to add audio effects for making music and storytelling.

Soundtrap currently offers a $7.99 to $11.99 monthly membership for music makers, an $11.99 monthly fee for podcast makers and a $13.99 monthly package for musicians who also wish to make their own podcasts.
