Reset Network Settings

Open Settings in your iPhone

Head over to the General section.

Go to the Reset option.

Select "Reset Network Settings".

Note that you will be asked to re-enter your Wifi password when you select this option.

Enable Cellular Data

iCloud verification failed error is very common in cases when users try to back up on their mobile data or slow Wifi connections. First, you should enable cellular data in your phone to allow iPhone to back up data on iCloud flawlessly. Here is how to do that.

Open Settings of your iPhone.

Go to “Cellular”

Now, if you are using mobile data, turn off your Wifi and do the backup on your mobile internet connection.

Try a Different Connection

It’s a possibility that you are facing iCloud verification failed and request timed out error due to your Wifi problems. Slow Wifi almost always results in failed backups and request time out problems.

In order to make sure that the problem isn’t specific to your Wifi connection, try to initiate the backup on some other Wifi connection. If the problem persists, you’ll have a confirmation that it is the device that is acting up.

Time and Date

The problem of iCloud verification during backups is strangely also linked to the time and data of your device. Any kind of mismatch or anomaly doesn’t let the backup process go through.

One of the best ways to fix iCloud verification failed during backup is to make sure your time and data settings are set to automatic. If your Set Time and Date Automatically are set to Off, you will face issues.

Go to Settings -> General.

Open Date & Time.

Turn on “Set Automatically”
