The glitch was only experienced by PlayStation 4 gamers.

The creators of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled on Friday revealed a major gaming issue that has affected players’ ability to save their games. However, the company is promising that a fix is on the way on July 3.

The remastered version of the ‘90s hit game Crash Team Racing officially rolled out on June 21. Just a week after the launch, the game’s publisher Activision said its unit, Beenox, has discovered that PlayStation 4 players encountered an issue with saving their games.

The save data file “has a chance to corrupt if the data for race ghosts in Time Trials becomes too large,” Activision said in a statement. The company said it has been working to fix the bug, and is encouraging PlayStation 4 players to avoid playing Time Trials. Nonetheless, they still have the option to backup save data on an external storage device or backup save data to the cloud as an extra precaution.

Activision stressed that Nintendo Switch and Xbox One players are not affected by the saving issue.

The fix, which is coming in July, will also include updates including a chance to earn Nitro Points ahead of the Nitro Tour Grand Prix that is also kicking off on July 3.

A new track will be available to local arcade and online game modes, called “Twilight Tour.”

Competing in Grand Prix challenges and earning Nitro Points will let players earn fan-favorite character Tawna. In addition to Tawna, users will also be able to earn karts, skins, stickers, decal and paint jobs.

Other updates include: online leaderboards (Nitro Point Online Leaderboard and Championship Leaderboard) on the Grand Prix Menu; new Pit Stop additions; podium animations for online matches when a player finishes in the top 3; user interface improvements such as a “Message of the Day” feature; adjustments to the Wumpa Coin earn rate; and personalized mini-map icons and racer icons.

To mark the first week of the game’s success, Animation said starting this weekend, it is offering a one-time 2,500 Wumpa Coin gift to all players on all platforms who play Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled while connected to the internet. The offer will run through July 4.

The bonus is available for online players when they complete a race and then access the Pit Stop.
