Samsung said the A80 is this generation’s solution to sharing live interactions.

The new Galaxy A80, Samsung Electronics’ first ever rotating triple camera is finally available in select markets starting today.

The device, which is part of Samsung’s A-series of mid-range phones, was officially revealed in April, and is marketed by the South Korean consumer electronics company as “Built for the Era of Live,” in a bid to appeal to the younger generation that is dominated by social media.

Samsung said the smart phone is designed for people who use their phones to video chat, to capture photos and stream live video, among other uses.

The Galaxy A80 has three cameras with high-quality ultra wide lens with a 123-degree viewing angle for vivid and wide-ranging image and video recording.

With the rotating camera, users can record their videos continuously from the front or back camera so that the whole footage can be seen in a single video without having to club videos together after capturing.

The phone also has a 3D Depth Camera that allows users to create videos on Live Focus Video mode. The triple camera also has a Super Steady Video mode that reduces bumps or shakes, which is perfect for social media influencers whose contents are travel-focused.

“Galaxy A80 is created for the Era of Live – a world where digital natives are capturing, sharing and connecting in the moment,” DJ Koh, president and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications at Samsung, was quoted as saying.

The Galaxy A80 has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with a 20:9 display ratio. It has an octa core processor, an 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The A80 has a 3,700mAh battery capacity and a 25W Super Fast Charging capability.

In addition, the Galaxy A80 is also equipped with Samsung Knox, Samsung’s defense-grade security platform that is created to protect users’ information from chipset to software.

The Galaxy A80 comes in three colors: Ghost White, Angel Gold and Phantom Black.
