Fix: iPhone Not Playing Next Songs in Playlists

iTunes playlists sometimes play on repeat and don't automatically switch to next sequences. Here is how to fix the problem.

A very common problem in iTunes is that sometimes it doesn’t automatically play the next song in a playlist. Users have to manually launch the next song in a playlist because iTunes sets itself to a repeat mode. There are different reasons behind why iPhone doesn’t play next song in a playlist. Here are some solutions.

Turn Off Repeat Option

One of the biggest reasons of this problem is the repeat option in iTunes. A lot of people accidentally touch this option. This option sets the current song in the playlist at repeat, resulting in iTunes not playing next songs automatically. Unselect the repeat option and you will have this issue fixed.

Another Way to Turn Off Repeat

Click on the name of the song you are playing. Swipe up to reveal the repeat option. Then click the three lines icon. Go in and clear all "up next" songs. Now exit to the original screen. Scroll down to the section where you can see the lyrics. Here you will see shuffle or repeat. Turn off repeat. This will fix iPhone not playing next songs in playlist.

Where is the Repeat Option?

Some users find it hard to locate the repeat or shuffle option in iPhone playlists. Under “Lyrics” you will see “Up Next”. Right next to that you should see a shuffle or repeat icon (arrows pointing towards each other). The repeat icon, when deselected, isn’t red.

Using Siri

Some users were able to turn off repeat simply by using Siri. You can issue a voice command to ask Siri to turn off the repeat option in iPhone playlists.
