The social media giant is planning to add more popular games to its gaming business.

Social media giant Facebook has secured rights to have exclusive virtual reality versions of hit PC and console video games like Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell for its Oculus VR headsets.

Facebook reportedly plans to have popular game franchises available on its Oculus line of VR headsets as the company ramps up the business by attracting more gamers, The Information reported, citing two people familiar with the matter.

Oculus, which was founded in 2012, was acquired by Facebook in March 2014 as the social media network attempts to cash in on the VR space. The Oculus’ most known challengers are the HTC Vive Pro, the Sony PlayStation VR, and the Samsung Odyssey + Windows Mixed Reality VR headset.

Oculus' lineup includes the new Oculus Quest, which was released in May, as well as the Oculus Rift and the Ogulus Go.

The move to have a wider collection of titles is led by Oculus' vice president of special gaming initiatives, Jason Rubin, who was the former head of content for the gaming unit. Rubin declined to comment to The Information about any partnerships, but said: "We will continue to focus on expanding our library and reaching broader gaming audiences for years to come."

The news outlet added that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is personally involved in the process of acquiring more licenses.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Ubisoft, the owner of the Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell franchises, declined to comment to the news outlet.

Ubisoft already offers Oculus versions of its games such as Eagle Flight, Werewolves Within, Space Junkies and Star Trek: Bridge Crew.

The Oculus store on Amazon currently offers an Oculus Marvel Powers United VR Special Edition Rift + Touch for just $699.98.
