Swing, climb and fight through the jungle as Tarzan.

Fun Train, the producer and publisher of episodic, premium virtual reality games based on established movie franchises such as The Exorcist: Legion VR, is introducing a new VR game that is based on the iconic fictional character that was raised in the jungle: Tarzan.

Tarzan VR is being developed in partnership with Stonepunk Studios, a team of game makers who were behind the indie hit title Primordian.

Stonepunk is currently working on Tarzan VR, which will be released episodically later this year for major virtual reality headsets including PlayStationVR, Valve Index, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift S.

The game will take players to the fantastic world of Tarzan created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, which was later adapted into an animation film by Walt Disney Feature Animation for Walt Disney Pictures in 1999 and most recently, by Village Roadshow for film in 2016.

Gamers will be able to balance their skills in exploration, combat, athletics, creature interaction and natural wonder while swinging, swimming, climbing and fighting their way across five open world environments. Players will also have access to Tarzan “jungle skills” such as Call of the Wild, Earth Vision and Fish Eye.

“Who hasn’t wanted to swing like Tarzan at some point in their life?” said Douglas Nabors, CEO of Fun Train. “Stonepunk Studios is crafting an imaginative world that demonstrates a faithful but unique vision for the Tarzan franchise. We can’t wait for people to experience it,” he added.

“We are especially pleased to partner with Fun Train and Stonepunk Studios to develop our first TARZAN virtual reality game” said Jim Sullos, President of Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. “Using this new technology, we believe we have entrusted the best team to develop an exciting game that reimagines Tarzan for a whole new generation.”
