Fix: Google Pixel Photo Frame Feature Not Working in Google Stand

A lot of users are facing problems with their Google Pixel's photo frame feature. This article mentions several ways to fix the problem.

Google Pixel stand is a sleek and beautiful gadget which you can use for viewing photos, watching videos and movies by putting your Google Pixel device on it. However, a lot of users complain that their photos aren’t showing up on their phone when they dock their Pixel device on the stand. They say that Google Photo Frame feature on Pixel phone doesn’t get activated even after docking. Users are only seeing their lock screen or clock after docking.

This problem is annoying, especially because Google Stand is a costly device and users really expect it to work flawlessly.

Here are some quick ways to fix Google Pixel stand not working problem.

How to Fix Google Pixel Photo Frame Not Working Issue

Enabling Photo Frame

First things first, make sure to activate Google Photo frame. When you connect your Pixel device with Google Stand, you will see several options.

Select Photo Frame and enable it for “ambient display”. Then select the photo album you want to view.

Turn off Screen Saver

Turning off screen saver on Google Pixel device also fixes the Google Pixel stand photo frame not working issue.

In order to turn off screen saver, go to Settings

Go to the Display section and head over to Advanced.

Open Screen Saver section.

Set “When to Start” to Never.

Room Brightness

As Google photo frame feature is set to work with “Ambient Display” make sure to use the feature at a place where the environment is bright in terms of light. Google Stand stops showing photos when the surroundings are too dark. A lot of users were able to fix the problem by putting Google Stand in a well-lit room.

Uninstall QR Code Apps

Uninstall any third-party apps that have low security or credibility. Especially any app that is related to QR codes should be uninstalled. These apps hinder Google Assistant, resulting in Google Stand and photo frame not working problems.

Factory Reset

As a last resort, doing a complete factory reset is the only solution to fix the problem. Doing a factory reset has worked for a lot of users, and they started seeing Google Photo frame working on their Google Pixel devices. Factory resetting is recommended for those users who don’t see any Google Assistant notification or pop-up screen while setting up their Google Stand. Seeing no Google Assistant notifications shows that there would be no activation after docking. This problem gets fixed after factory reset.
