DC Universe Online, the free-to-play MMO that has been available on PCs, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for quite some time now, has finally landed on the Nintendo Switch.

Daybreak Games, the American video game developer behind DC Universe Online, has rolled out the game to the Nintendo Switch, saying DC Universe Online is the first and only MMO game set in the DC Universe to be available on the Nintendo Switch.

DC Universe Online currently has over 30 episodes featuring the greatest DC superheroes including Superman, Batman, the Justice League, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Flash, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn, Aquaman, the Teen Titans and more DC favorites.

The game features exceptional graphics.

The storyline revolves around popular worlds in the DC franchise including Gotham City, where you can be Batman or The Huntress and fight against The Joker and Catwoman; the Metropolis, where you can team up with Superman and WOnder Woman to defeat Lex Luthor and Circe; and Atlantis, where you can be Aquaman.

“Who hasn't imagined what their own Super Hero would look like or what superpowers they'd have? Then hit the streets of Gotham City and Metropolis and partner with the greats like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, or even The Joker. In DCUO, it’s YOUR character, with the DC Universe as your playground to either protect or conquer,” SJ Mueller, Creative Director of DC Universe Online, said in a statement.

According to Daybreak, players no longer need to sign up to a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play.

The rollout to the Nintendo Switch comes ahead of the release of two new episodes based on DC’s Dark Nights: Metal comic book series: Episode 35: Metal - Part I to be released in September and Episode 36: Metal - Part II, coming out in December.

The Nintendo Switch support for the DC Universe Online was first announced in May.
