Walt Disney to offer $12.99 streaming bundle for Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+

Launching in November, Disney+ will be available in a bundle with the company's existing direct-to-consumer offerings Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99 a month.

With the launch of its streaming service just over three months away, Walt Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger said Disney+ will be available in a bundle with the company's existing direct-to-consumer offerings.

Disney+ will be available alongside Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99 a month, which Iger said is a “good price” for three services that offer tremendous volume, quality and variety to customers.

Launching in the U.S. on November 12, Disney+ will be priced at $6.99 per month. The service will offer customers ad-free content from the company’s entertainment brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.

Disney+ will be available across a wide range of mobile and connected TV devices, including gaming consoles, streaming media players and smart TVs. The service will adjust to the best possible high definition viewing experience based on a subscriber’s available bandwidth, with support for up to 4K HDR video playback.

Disney+ will be the exclusive streaming home for films released by The Walt Disney Studios in 2019 and beyond, including “Captain Marvel,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Aladdin,” “Toy Story 4,” “The Lion King,” “Frozen 2,”and “Star Wars: Episode IX.”

During the company’s fiscal third quarter earnings call, Iger said an international launch of Disney+ will proceed “very quickly,” with a couple of markets coming online "around the same time" as the domestic debut.

From there, Disney+ would roll out into other markets over the next two to three years, offering the same content from Marvel, Pixar, Disney, National Geographic and the Star Wars franchise that will be available domestically.

Marketing for Disney+ is set to begin this month across traditional and digital outlets, with Iger reviewing a comprehensive marketing plan in the coming days.

"It's going to be treated as the most important product that the company has launched," Iger said.
