Ship, a dating app from Match Group and Betches Media that launched earlier this year on iOS, is now available on Android devices. In a nutshell, the app lets single people involve their friends in the matchmaking process.

Ship lets users' friends help pick out potential dates by allowing them to swipe on their behalf and discuss profiles in a group discussion.

With Ship, users can invite their friends to join a "Crew." Members of the user's Crew can swipe on dating profiles on their behalf. A "Crew chat" group messaging feature can be used for members to discuss the merits of a potential match in greater detail.

Every member of a Crew can send a 'like' to a profile that meets the user's search settings. If that profile also sends a 'like' back, then it's a match.

According to Ship, non-single users should not feel weird about downloading a dating app because it has a different look and functionality when you sign up to help your friends find matches. After signing up, users can select the "I'm not single" option then proceed to join their single friends' Crews.

This means that users are not limited to just inviting their single and non-single friends. They can also invite their parents, siblings, cousins, aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews, or basically anyone they want to involve in their online dating adventure.

Introduced in January, the iOS version of Ship is the fastest-growing dating app in the Match Group family of apps which includes Tinder, Hinge, OkCupid and PlentyofFish. A full 53% of matches made on the app are a result of friends swiping on behalf of their friends.

The minimum age requirement for Ship is 18 years old. The app is optimized for iPhone 6 and later, with iOS 11 and higher. Ship does not support iPhone SE, iPhone 5 or any earlier model.
