The ceramic version of the Apple Watch could make a comeback soon.

Apple’s new line of Apple Watch models could soon be enclosed in titanium and ceramic cases, moving away from the line’s original aluminum body.

A report by 9to5Mac, citing iHelpBR, said the information was obtained through leaked assets that show animations indicating new 44MM Titanium and 44MM Ceramic watches.

According to 9to5Mac, the image shows the animation that plays when the watch is first set up. It copies the back design of the Apple Watch featuring the model name and the ‘Designed by Apple in California’ signature.

The leaked images support the remarks made by reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in February. At the time, Kuo told 9to5Mac that Apple is gearing up for the launch of a new ceramic casing design.

Apple killed off the ceramic design — that was seen in the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 — when it launched the Series 4.

Meanwhile, according to 9to5Mac, Apple doesn’t use titanium as much in any of its new products, aside from the new Apple Card that is made of titanium.

The reports come as Apple is preparing to launch watchOS 6 with upgraded features including Cycle Tracking, Noise app, Activity Trends and the App Store .
