The service will be available on smartphones, consoles and other streaming devices.

Walt Disney Co. has officially released the list of streaming platforms where its new Disney+ service will be available for watching, including on iPhones, Android smartphones and gaming consoles.

Disney+, the company’s challenger to Netflix, will be available on the following devices starting November 12 for certain markets:

- Apple devices including iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV

- Google via Android phones, Android TV devices, Google Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices

- The Xbox One by Microsoft

- Sony via Android based Sony TVs and the PlayStation 4

- Roku

Notably, Walt Disney did not include Amazon’s devices such as the Fire TV and Fire Tablets. Disney+ is expected to face tough competition from the current market leader, Netflix, as well as from newcomers like Apple TV+ and AT&T and NBCUniversal.

Apple's Apple TV+ service is rumored to cost $9.99 a month.

Meanwhile, Walt Disney also announced that the launch in Canada and the Netherlands will coincide with the scheduled release of Disney+ in the United States on November 12. Meanwhile, customers in Australia and New Zealand can expect the streaming service to arrive on November 19.

Disney+ will be priced monthly at $6.99 in the U.S. The service will cost C$8.99 in Canada per month, or C$89.99 per year; €6.99 per month in the Netherlands, or €69.99 annually; A$8.99 in Australia, or A$89.99 per year; and NZ$$9.99 in New Zealand, or NZ$99.99 per year.

The announcement comes two weeks after Walt Disney announced that it will be bundling Disney+ with Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99 a month. Hulu is also owned by Walt Disney, while ESPN is partly owned by the company alongside Hearst Communications.
