Spotify has jumped on board the 'stories' bandwagon.

Spotify appears to be joining the trend of Instagram-like Stories with its own take on the feature, but this time, for playlists on the music and podcast streaming app.

The streaming giant has not officially made an announcement about the potential feature, but it was uncovered by known white hat hacker Jane Manchun Wong, who is known for tracking major updates that are being developed by major websites and social media apps before they are officially released.

If confirmed, the new feature would put Spotify alongside Instagram, Facebook, and the app that is regarded for starting the Stories trend, Snapchat.

According to Wong, she looked at the code underneath the Spotify app when she was reverse-engineering the mobile app and discovered that the tech company is developing the Stories feature. Spotify reportedly started trialing it with Norwegian singer Sigrid, who rose to fame with her pop songs like “Strangers,” “Don’t Kill My Vibe” and “Mine Right Now.”

On her recently launched blog, Wong posted what appears to be a copy of Spotify’s Stories currently in the works. It shows about a dozen Stories by Sigrid in an unreleased Q&A session.

Wong pointed out that the font used in the sample Stories is called “Circular”, the same font that Spotify uses for its branding across its app and website.

The technology blogger said users can access the Playlist Story — if and when it launches — by tapping the profile picture in the middle top of the playlist page, similar to the user interface of other apps that offer the feature.
