New Leak Suggests PlayStation 5 Coming Sooner Than Expected

Previous leaks suggested that PS5 would be launched in April 2020, but the latest report says something different.

A new leak says that PlayStation 5 would be launched in February 2020. This leak is slightly different from the previous reports which suggested that PlayStation 5 would be released after April 2020.

The latest PS5 release date was leaked by YouTuber “ Mystic.” The YouTuber said that PlayStation 5 would be “fully revealed” on February 12, 2020 when a new PlayStation meeting will be held.

The report added that Sony is inviting several third party game publishers for the event. Mystic also said that famous games like Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us II will be featured at the launch event.

Although the leak couldn’t but trusted completely, the fact that Sony didn’t hold the PSX event this year increases the chances of a PlayStation event in February. For historical context, Sony held the PS4 launch event in February 2013.

Almost all the leaks and reports so far had suggested that Sony PlayStation 5 will be released in 2020. In May 2018, head of PlayStation, who has since retired, said that PlayStation 5 was three years away. In April this year, the Wall Street Journal reported that PS5 won’t be launched before April 2020.

PlayStation 5 GPU

Another recent leaked suggested that PlayStation 5 GPU will have a speed of 2 GHz and could feature up to 40 CUs. The leak was published by RedGamingTech, which cited famous leakster Komachi. It is important to note that PlayStation 4 Pro had 36 CUs for the most advanced version.

Analysts believe that if the GPU leak is true, PS5 performance will be at par with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080.
