These are the top states with the most number of Fortnite-obsessed players

Whether you're a fan of this game or not, Fortnite is definitely here to stay.

Fortnite is proving to be one of the most addictive games of this generation. It has been over two years since this online shooter-survival video game was launched, but it’s still continuing to gain popularity among millions of gamers across the world.

The video game space has become saturated with attractive titles offering promising gameplay. Among the most highly rated games that have seen a growing number of users are Minecraft, League of Legends, and Overwatch.

However, Fortnite managed to survive and beat all the other games as seen by its vast user base. With its popularity among gamers, Fortnite has seen a plethora of merchandise dedicated to its loyal fans. Players usually spend hours a day playing the game.

Because of Fortnite’s appeal to the masses, Epic Games has released three different game modes so players can choose how they want the gameplay to go.

There’s Fortnite: Save the World, a player-versus-environment game mode; Fortnite Battle Royale, a player-versus-player battle royale game for up to 100 players; and Fortnite Creative, where players can freely build anything on an island.

In the United States alone, Fortnite has gained a massive following. Online products and services reviewer Reviews.org has come out to provide an extensive review of the country’s Fortnite fan base. The team at Reviews.org was able to pinpoint the states where Fortnite has the most number of players.

It identified Mississippi, New Jersey, Illinois, Alabama and Georgia as the top 5 most Fortnite-obsessed states. Reviews.org attributed the climate at these five states as one of the key reasons why fans play Fortnite.

“What do these states have in common? They all have really hot summers and it’s better to stay inside? That sounds about right,” Reviews.org researcher and writer Tyler Abbott said.

Meanwhile, the website identified Alaska as the state that is least interested in Fortnite. The game only garnered 42% of the vote in Alaska, which is far below the positive vote of 61% in Mississippi.

In the wider view of the U.S., Fortnite ranked first across all states, compared to Minecraft, League of Legends, Overwatch and Destiny 2. Reviews.org said Minecraft may not come close to Fortnite in terms of the number of users, but it’s the second-ranked video game in the country.

The website also ranked the top five states where each of the following games are most popular:

Minecraft:

1. Idaho

2. Montana

3. Maine

4. Utah

5. Wyoming

League of Legends:

1. Hawaii

2. Alaska

3. Washington

4. District of Columbia

5. California

Overwatch:

1. District of Columbia

2. Massachusetts

3. Oregon

4. Washington

5. Alaska

Destiny 2:
