Sony’s latest a6600 and a6100 mirrorless cameras now up for pre-order

Pre-order them now before their official release later this year.

Sony is banking on mirrorless cameras to help fuel its sales now that consumers are not really keen on DSLR cameras anymore.

Photography enthusiasts, content creators and even regular users who use a camera now tend to rely on mirrorless cameras to capture quality images and videos.

Mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras, or simply mirrorless cameras, started to emerge in 2004 but only gained popularity around 2010s. Sony forayed into mirrorless cameras in 2010 with the release of the Sony Alpha NEX-3 and NEX-5.

Now, the Japanese tech giant is releasing its latest models of mirrorless cameras: the a6600 and the a6100 cameras. They are both available for pre-order before their official release on November 29 and October 25, respectively.

The a6600 premium E-mount APS-C camera features ultra-fast auto-focus (AF) and continuous shooting. Its focus points are so wide, covering around 84% of the image area. It also boasts a fast continuous shooting functionality with minimal display lag. Users will be able to shoot at up to 11 fps with live view, in bursts of up to 116 shots. Its continuous shooting feature is so silent with no shutter noise.

It also has real-time tracking and real-time eye AF.

The body of the a6600 is available for pre-order at $1,398.00 on both Adorama and Amazon.com. At Adorama, you can even pay in installments of up to 12 months at $117.00 a month.

The other upcoming mirrorless camera is the a6100 APS-C camera with fast AF. The body of the a6100 is available for pre-order at $748.00 on Adorama, while Amazon.com is offering the camera with a 16-50mm Zoom Lens at $848.00.

The a6100 is also a great option as it also offers real-time tracking and real-time eye AF just like the a6600. It has a 180° tiltable LCD touchscreen for easier self-portraits and high- and low-angle shots.

With the a6100’s APS-C sensor, the camera helps optimize light-collection efficiency.

Pre-order the a6100's body at just $748.00 on Adorama or the a6100 with a lens at just $848.00 on Amazon.com. You can also opt for the a6600 at just $1,398.00, also on Adorama and Amazon.com.
