All you need to know about Apple’s new iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max

The iPhone 11 is priced significantly lower than the iPhone XR when it was launched last year.

Apple has just unveiled its new line of iPhones, confirming rumors that the new range is the iPhone 11.

People from across the world were all eyes on Apple as the company revealed all the details of the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, with a particular focus on their cameras.

The most notable announcement was the three-camera setup for the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, which confirmed speculations and leaks that we recently spotted.

But before we dive into the triple camera system for the pricier versions of the iPhone 11, let’s first take a look at the features of the iPhone 11.

iPhone 11

Just like last year’s iPhone XR, Apple is again rolling out six color variations for the iPhone 11: purple, yellow, green, black, white and red. However, the biggest change, at least for some, is its lower price tag, which starts at $699, compared to the iPhone XR, which started at $749 when it launched.

The iPhone 11 shares the same 6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD display that the XR has. Both are also built with glass and aluminum. They vary, however, in camera because the iPhone 11 boasts dual 12MP Ultra Wide and Wide cameras with Night modem compared to the XR’s single 12MP Wide camera. The 11’s TrueDepth camera has a 4k video recording capacity of up to 60 fps, better than the XR’s TrueDepth camera with 1080p HD video recording up to 60 fps. Apple said the dual-camera system of the iPhone 11 can now capture perfect Night mode photos.

The iPhone 11 packs an A13 Bionic chip with a third-generation Neural Engine, also better than the XR’s A12 Bionic chip with second-generation Neural Engine. Apple said the A13 Bionic chip is the fastest chip in a smartphone to date.

In terms of battery capacity, the iPhone 11 lasts up to 1 hour longer than the iPhone XR. It is also water-resistant to a depth of 2 meters for up to 30 minutes. Customers can now get as much as 256GB of storage in the iPhone 11.

All six variants of the iPhone 11 will be available for pre-order starting 5 a.m. PDT on Friday, September 13, and will hit stores the week after on September 20.

“iPhone 11 is the next generation of iPhone, packed with great new capabilities in an incredible design, including new Ultra Wide and Wide cameras for gorgeous videos and photos, the power and ease of use of iOS 13, and A13 Bionic — the fastest chip ever in a smartphone that quickly handles the tasks that matter most to people every day,” Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said.

iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max

Moving on to the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, these new Apple smartphones both boast a Super Retina XDR display with textured matte glass and stainless steel design. They vary in size though, with the 11 Pro having a 5.8-inch display, while the 11 Pro Max sporting a massive 6.5-inch display.

Apple went as far as adding three cameras to the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. They include a triple 12MP Ultra Wide, Wide, and Telephoto cameras with Night mode. Just like the regular iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro has a TrueDepth camera with 4k video recording up to 60 fps.

In terms of battery, the iPhone 11 Pro Max has the longest battery life in an iPhone that lasts up to 5 hours longer than the iPhone Xs Max. Meanwhile, the iPhone Pro can last up to 4 hours longer than the iPhone Xs. Both phones are water-resistant to a depth of 4 meters for up to 30 minutes.

There are four color variants to choose from: midnight green, silver, space gray and gold. The iPhone Pro will start at $999 and the iPhone Pro Max at $1,099.

Just like the iPhone 11, the Pro and Pro Max will also be up for pre-order starting 5 a.m. PDT on Friday, September 13, and will hit stores the week after on September 20.

“iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are the most powerful and advanced smartphones we have ever made. They are packed with sophisticated technology that pros can count on to get their work done, and for anyone who wants the very best device made, even if they are not a pro,” Schiller said.
