Overwatch is coming to the Nintendo Switch in October

At Overwatch, the whole world is your battlefield.

Blizzard’s highly acclaimed game, and possibly the game developer’s biggest yet, is arriving on Nintendo Switch consoles on October 15.

Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter game that was launched in 2016 for PCs and for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It has amassed millions of followers and by July, it was able to generate $1 billion from in-game spending, according to data from Nielsen.

The fast-paced “hero shooter is scheduled to arrive on Nintendo Switch in October, but pre-orders have started to open on the Nintendo eShop.

Those who purchase the game before December 31 will be entitled to a Golden Loot Box that they can unlock. The surprise includes at least 1 guaranteed Legendary item.

With Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch, players can choose their favorite hero from a diverse cast of soldiers, scientists, adventurers, and oddballs. The game lets gamers speed up or slow down time, defy physics and unleash a range of extraordinary powers such as Dragonstrike, Transcendence, Graviton Surge, and so much more.

Overwatch is unlike any typical shooter game as it features more than just weapons. Witness rain destruction from the sky in an experimental, jet-powered armor suit and more as you and your team fight for the future together.

With Overwatch: Legendary Edition, Nintendo Switch players can redeem a 3-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership subscription, in addition to purchasing the full game. The Legendary Edition also comes with 5 Legendary Hero Skins, 5 Epic Hero Skins, 5 Origin Hero Skins and so much more.

Because Overwatch can be played in handheld mode, you can also expect that the game will be available on the upcoming Nintendo Switch Lite that will hit the stores on September 20.

The Nintendo Switch Lite lets users play Overwatch for longer hours than with the Nintendo Switch. It’s specifically built for handheld gaming when outdoors.

The Nintendo Switch Lite, the lighter and more portable version of the Switch, is up for pre-order on retail outlets including Walmart, Gamestop and Amazon.com for just $199.99, $100 cheaper than the Switch. They come in three different variants, plus a special edition version:

Nintendo Switch Lite Gray

Nintendo Switch Lite Turquoise

Nintendo Switch Lite Yellow

Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta (Special Edition)

You can choose from either the gray, yellow or turquoise Nintendo Switch Lite, or if you’re a fan of Pokemon, you can pre-order the Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta special edition for the same price.
