Pandora now lets users share music and podcasts on Instagram Stories

The battle for the best music streaming app is heating up.

Music streaming app Pandora has rolled out a feature that lets users share music and podcasts they listen to on the app to their Instagram Stories, following on the footsteps of its biggest rival, Spotify.

Spotify introduced the feature in May 2018 and just recently, the music app also expanded the feature to Facebook Stories.

Just like Spotify, Pandora said the share-to-Instagram feature will be available across all tiers of its services, including those who are on free access.

The feature first rolled out to a limited number of Pandora users as the platform starts to make it available to all users in the coming weeks.

To enjoy the share-to-Instagram Stories capability, all you have to do is to tap “Share” when you’re listening to a song or a podcast and then tap on “Instagram Stories” on the Now Playing screen. A special Cover Art card for that music or podcast will automatically generate on your Instagram Stories. Simply put, it’s basically the same steps you would take when sharing from Spotify.

With both Spotify and Pandora sharing on Instagram Stories, you can add text and stickers to the Cover Art that you’re about to share. Other than sharing on Instagram Stories, you can also share your chosen song or podcast on Pandora as a direct message to your Instagram followers.

They can easily tap on “Play on Pandora” when they see your message or your Instagram Story.

Currently, Pandora offers two ad-free subscriptions: Pandora Plus and Pandora Premium.

With both subscriptions, listeners can get access to ad-free stations and play their favorite podcasts. They can also personalize their stations and get unlimited skips. However, with Pandora Premium, users are entitled to playing all songs, albums and podcasts, personalize their playlists in addition to stations, and access unlimited offline listening, unlike Pandora Plus that only offers four offline stations.

Unlike Pandora Premium, Pandora Plus subscribers won’t be able to search and play anything and make and share playlists.

Pandora Plus costs $4.99 a month, while Pandora Premium costs $9.99 a month.
