Sony’s Walkman is making a comeback and you can now stream from anywhere

It’s time to take a trip down memory lane.

Back then, when you wanted to listen to music on the go, there was a Sony Walkman that made that possible. It was such a revolutionary music device in the previous decades because it allowed people to carry their favorite jams anywhere without having to bring a cassette player.

This year, Sony has revealed a new Walkman to mark the 40th anniversary of this iconic device and this time, you’ll be able to stream any songs from whatever music streaming platform you’ve subscribed to.

The 40th anniversary edition NW-A100TPS Walkman provides high-resolution quality that works with any music you’re streaming, plus Sony is also letting users with Bluetooth headphones connect to the device.

The device is built with a precisely engineered rigid aluminium milled frame and high quality audio parts that include solders, film condensers and a fine sound resistor that is also present in the previous ZX series and NW-WM1Z.

In terms of the design, the new NW-A100TPS Walkman now features a sleeker look and feel as it is packed into a handy sized compact body, unlike its bulky predecessors. Its HD display measures 3.6 inches and you can enjoy a cassette tape user interface for that nostalgic feeling.

The Walkman runs on Android OS, letting users download any of their favorite music streaming apps like Spotify or Pandora. The device also has a file manager to let users download music and listen to them directly.

With the NW-A100TPS Walkman, you no longer have to worry about running out of battery as fast as you would with smartphones or any other device you listen to music to. This Walkman has a battery life of up to 26 hours. It has a USB-Type-C port for convenient connectivity.

You can even pair this Walkman with Sony’s new stylish h.ear WH-H910N overband headphones that is also coming to stores soon.

Sony has yet to release an announcement on when these devices will hit stores and retail outlets in the U.S., but you can download The Tracker app to get notified as soon as they arrive in stores.
