Garmin launches Marvel-themed special edition smartwatches

You can now live out your superhero fantasy by wearing your very own GPS smartwatches inspired by Marvel’s Avengers characters Captain Marvel and Captain America.

They are part of Garmin’s new Legacy Hero Series and they will surely make for a great collectible for every Marvel fan. The announcement comes just days after Garmin unveiled its new smartwatch, the fēnix 6X, which is now up for purchase on

At the moment, there are only two variants of the Legacy Hero Series to choose from, but if they become a hit, Garmin could soon roll out more Marvel-themed watches. Who knows, you could finally get your hands on an Iron Man smartwatch soon.

The new Garmin Legacy Hero Series smartwatches feature engraved slogans and bezels that are marked with character insignias to let Marvel fans “Find Their Power.”

The Captain Marvel Special Edition Smartwatch is inspired by Captain Marvel’s suit and photon energy. Its leather band’s is made with premium “Danvers blue” leather that is reminiscent of Carol Danvers’ suit. The watch also has a magnificent light gold bezel that looks strikingly similar with the kind of gold that lights up when Captain Marvel is in her binary form. The Captain Marvel Special Edition Smartwatch is engraved with her famous line, “Higher, further, faster.”

Meanwhile, the First Avenger Special Edition Smartwatch that features Captain America features Cap’s premium tactical leather band for that military feel. The band has a textured nubuck leather interior modeled after Steve Rogers’ vintage 1940s military gear. The bezel of the watch has Midnight blue details and it’s made with a brushed stainless steel that mimics Captain America’s signature Vibranium shield. The First Avenger Special Edition Smartwatch is engraved with Cap’s favorite line, “I can do this all day.”

Both watches sport character-themed watch faces and goal animations. The best part is that they both come with their own apps that feature exclusive badges, Carol Danvers and Steve Rogers-inspired avatars and more. However, they differ in battery life. The Captain Marvel watch has a battery life of up to 7 days, while the First Avenger watch can last for up to 8 days.

Garmin unveiled the new Legacy Hero Series collection at the IFA 2019 in Berlin and they’re currently on display at the convenion until September 11 at Booth 232.

They will retail at $399.99 and they will be available in October. There’s no word yet on when these new watches will be available for pre-order or purchase, but you can download The Tracker app and add them to the lists of items you’re tracking to get first dibs when they go on sale.
