Google could also unveil a new ChromeOS-based Pixelbook at the October event.

Google has confirmed that it will unveil the new Pixel 4 at its 2019 hardware event on October 15 in New York.

The tech giant confirmed the date via invites sent to media. TechCrunch said Google could reveal more devices other than the Pixel 4 as the invite promises “a few new things Made by Google.”

Back in July, Google released a video snippet of what appears to be the most advanced feature of the Pixel 4. It’s Google’s proprietary Motion Sense and face unlock, “helping you to get things done without having to touch it.”

As smartphone manufacturers continue releasing more advanced phone features like the face recognition that was only introduced in recent years, Google has found a way to adapt with its upcoming Motion Sense technology.

TechCrunch said the technology uses Soli radar-based gesture-recognition.

Just like the iPhone 11 and the Huawei Mate 30, the Google Pixel 4 is also one of the most heavily leaked phones online before the official release date.

Among the most interesting leaks is the Pixel 4’s design. It will likely have a single color/texture back, a three-camera setup that will likely include a wide-angle camera, a standard camera and a zoom lens.

Other leaks have also pointed at a 6.23-inch OLED display with a 3040×1440 resolution and a large top and bottom bezels, TechCrunch said.

Meanwhile, the news outlet said Google could also announce a new ChromeOS-based Pixelbook, new Google Home smart speakers, plus new Stadia updates ahead of the launch of Google’s cloud gaming service in November.
