More games are arriving on the Switch Lite.

Nintendo has kicked off sales of its new small, but mighty console that is changing the landscape in handheld gaming: the Nintendo Switch Lite.

Gamers and customers who wanted to get into the world of Nintendo can now purchase the Switch Lite for $199.99 (or $199.96 for some) from retail outlets and online shops like Amazon.com, Walmart.com, GameStop, Best Buy and Target.

Shortly after sales have opened worldwide, Nintendo officially announced that the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, is now available on the Nintendo Switch platform, meaning it can be downloaded and accessed on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch Lite.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening was first introduced in 1993 as an action-adventure game built for the Game Boy. The game is part of the Legend of Zelda series that was developed by Nintendo and launched in 1986.

Now, the popular game that has amassed a huge following over the years, has finally arrived, coinciding with the worldwide launch of the Nintendo Switch Lite.

“The introduction of Nintendo Switch Lite gives people the choice of a Nintendo Switch system that best fits their needs and personal play style.. With the simultaneous launch of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, today is a great day for newcomers and existing Nintendo Switch owners alike,” Nick Chavez, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Nintendo of America, said in a statement.

Playing the Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on the Nintendo Switch Lite could be a fun experience as the lightweight device is built for handheld mode, which is what the game is made for. In the reimagined Legend of Zelda game, Link becomes stranded on the mysterious Koholint island. In order to return home, Link has to explore the island and battle against enemies along the way, including some from the Super Mario series.

Apart from the Legend of Zelda, other existing games on the Nintendo Switch platform that are compatible with handheld mode will be available on the Switch Lite.
