Samsung rolls out Android 10 beta for Galaxy S10

The new software update will bring a refreshed UI to S10 phones.

Samsung Electronics has started making the upcoming Android 10 available on beta for Galaxy S10 smartphones, the company said in a press release.

The Android 10 beta will feature quite a number of changes on the phones' user interface, which, according to Samsung, will "simplify and streamline interactions" by helping users focus on tasks that matter.

The new new One UI design will see notifications take up lesser space to avoid those pesky notifications especially while playing a game or when viewing a video.

Samsung has also minimized the caller notification and the volume bar. Just last month when Apple rolled out the iOS 13 update, iOS users also saw a difference with the placement and the size of the volume bar when the volumes are turned up or down.

Meanwhile, Samsung said One UI for the Android 10 also enhances the Dark Mode feature for S10 phones by automatically adjusting the brightness of images, texts and colors on the screen while also reducing battery use.

Samsung has also adjusted the color and format of the clock and notification display for the S10 when phones are locked. This way, the color of the time and date, as well as the notifications would be more visible to the users.

Aside from the changes on the user interface, Samsung said Android 10 will offer more tools to help users manage their digital wellness. There's now a Focus Mode that will allow users to pause apps from running temporarily when users seek to reduce distractions such as when studying.

It will also show the time that users have spent on certain apps.

To join the beta, you will need to have a Samsung account. The program is available for the Galaxy S10e/S10/S10+/S10 5G and other devices with Android 10 OS.
