Here are some of the ways through which you can fix your slow fingerprint sensor in Note10+.

Samsung Note10+ has a smart fingerprint sensor feature using which you can unlock your phone. But a lot of users report that this feature is extremely slow. It takes on average about 3 seconds for the phone to unlock, which is very slow when compared to the latest industry standards. In this article, we mention some of the ways to fix the slow fingerprint sensor problem in Galaxy Note 10+.

Using Battery Optimization Workaround

A great way to make a slow fingerprint sensor in Galaxy Note 10+ fast is to use the battery optimization settings. Follow the steps below:

Open Settings.

Search “Special Access”.

Open Special Access.

Tap “Optimize Battery Usage”.

Tap on the arrow down.

Tap “All”.

Scroll down and you will see “com.samsung.android.biometrics.app”.

Toggle it off.

Restart your phone.

By following the steps above, your fingerprint unlock time will go to 1-2 seconds from 3 seconds.

Changing/Removing Protector

One of the primary causes of slow fingerprint sensor in Samsung Galaxy Note10+ is a faulty glass or phone protector. A lot of cheap phone protectors make it impossible for fingerprint sensors to register touch. You should remove the protector and then try unlocking your phone.

Additionally, your finger should be dry, clean and free or moisture of dirt. Samsung Note10+ fingerprint sensor technology is still new, and it is unable to bypass material dust or moisture during authentication.

Register More Fingers

If you have registered one of your fingers to unlock your phone, you should register your other fingers or thumb as an alternative fingerprint method. Registering more than one fingers helps unlock your phone fast.

Remove and Add Fingerprints

Removing your saved fingerprints and adding your fingerprints anew has worked for a lot of users. In order to remove your saved fingerprints in Samsung Galaxy Note10+, go to Settings and open Biometrics and security section. Now tap “Fingerprints”. After adding your password, select the fingerprint to remove and tap the remove option on the upper right corner.

To add a new fingerprint, go to Settings and open Lock Screen. Head over to 'Looking for something else?' section and open Fingerprints.

Tap “Add Fingerprint” and follow the on-screen instructions.

Press Harder

Another good tip to fix fingerprint sensor slow problem in Samsung Galaxy Note10+ is to simply press harder when trying to unlock your phone. Ideally the phone should register touch even on lighter touches. But as the technology is new, sometimes it takes a comparatively harder and longer touch for the fingerprint sensor to register your touch in order to unlock the phone.
