Google unveils Pixel 4 with revolutionary radar tech; pre-order now

The Pixel 4 comes with a whole new suite of features.

Google has finally taken the wraps off its new Pixel 4 smartphone following months of leaks.

The Pixel 4 is indeed one of the heaviest-leaked smartphone of all time prior to its launch and not surprisingly, most of the leaked photos nailed the actual look of the Pixel 4.

There are three variants of the phone to choose from: a trendy "Oh So Orange" look, a basic "Just Black" variant and a minimalist "Clearly White" option. The Pixel 4 also has a bigger option, called the Pixel 4 XL.

They are now available for pre-order on from $799.00. The phones will start shipping out on October 21.

Perhaps the most advanced feature of this new phone is its Quick Gestures tool, which uses radar technology to allow the phone to sense motion. This way, users can control their Pixel 4 by waving their hand above the screen. This is a great feature for when you're running on the treadmill, enjoying your taco or when you're out swimming.

Quick Gestures works when skipping songs from your playlist, snoozing your alarm and silencing phone calls.

Apart from this radar technology, the Pixel 4 also has an improved face unlock feature that is now enhanced by Motion Sense. Users can simply look at their device to securely unlock it, make payments, and get into apps quickly.

Google has also stepped up its camera game with the Pixel 4's new camera setup. The Pixel 4 can shoot perfect photos without the flash even in the dark with its Night Sight technology. This technologoy helps users capture the Milky Way galaxy perfectly.

The Pixel 4 now comes with a second camera lens to make Portrait Mode produce even better photos. Backgrounds now fade into an artful blur, making photos look like they're taken by a DSLR camera.

Other new features include a more advanced security feature with a custom-made Titan M security chip, Google Play Protect that scans apps to make sure your data is secured, Live View in Google Maps to help you see the way you need to go with more intuitive arrows and directions, and a recorder that transcribes text. Additionally, Google also confirmed that the Pixel 4 will be able to call 911 in the event of a car accident through its new car crash detection technology.

The feature was spotted by XDA Developers back in September.

The Pixel 4 is now up for pre-order on Google's store from $799 or $33.29 a month for 24 months and on for the same starting price before it ships out on October 21.
