Walmart opens up Walmart Toy Lab for 2019 Holiday Season

Kids can now try out the toys virtually before deciding to buy them.

Ahead of the busy holiday shopping season, Walmart has unveiled a new way for parents and kids to try out toys before buying them without having to leave their homes.

The retail giant has partnered with choice-driven entertainment provider eko to offer an interactive play experience that can be accessed for free online using a tablet or computer.

The Walmart Toy Lab will let kids try out this year's most-wanted toys before kids and their parents choose to buy them.

The Toy Lab, which can be accessed through this link, looks like a fun workshop where kids play and test out toys. Two hosts will guide kids through the journey using a Funtroller.

Those who head on to the Walmart Toy Lab site can choose to test, look at, or play with the hottest holiday toys such as rolling around on a Hover-1 Kart hoverboard, keeping watch from the Paw Patrol Lookout Tower, taking care of the How to Train Your Hatching Dragon and more.

Starting today, kids and parents can play with the following toys virtually via the Walmart Toy Lab:

  • Barbie Dreamplane
  • Owleez
  • Frozen 2 Elsa’s Enchanted Ice Vanity
  • FurReal Cubby
  • Frozen 2 Arendelle Castle
  • Kindi Kids
  • Myla the Magical Unicorn
  • Juno My Baby Elephant
  • Frozen 2 Forest Expedition Dolls
  • Robo Alive Ice Dragon / Robo Alive Fire Dragon
  • Star Wars Scream Saber
  • Marvel Spider-Man Super Web Slinger
  • Turbo Bot
  • L.O.L. Glamper
  • Simba Ride-On
  • Peppa Pig Magical Parade
  • Paw Patrol Lookout Tower
  • Adventure Force NASCAR Crash Racers
  • Hover-1 Hoverboard and Kart
  • Huffy Torex

The launch of the Walmart Toy Hub coincided with Walmart's decision to roll back prices on over 400 toys in stores and on - a promotion that is dedicated to customers who are looking to shop early for Christmas gifts ahead of the busy holiday season.

The rollback covers some of the hottest holiday toys this year including the Treasure X Alien Hunters, Pinkfong Baby Shark OfficialSong Puppet, Barbie Dreamplane Playset with 15+ Themed Accessories and more.

"Being a retailer isn’t simply about selling items anymore – it’s about creating an experience for our customers. The Walmart Toy Lab is a way for us to create a digital experience for kids to really see our hottest toys in action as we enter the holiday season," Anne Marie Kehoe, Walmart’s vice president of toys, said in a statement.
