Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville lands on PS4, Xbox One and PC

More zombies are coming...

Back in 2009, Plants vs. Zombies took over the world by storm and had everyone protecting their lawn from those pesky brain-eating zombies.

Since then, the game by PopCap has raked in millions of followers, prompting the game creator to release more updates, including the introduction of a Plants vs. Zombies mobile game.

Now, the latest addition to the entire Plants vs. Zombies franchise has arrived on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Origin. Players can download the new game, called "Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville" in stores for physical copies and online for digital versions.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville will be set in the suburban region of Neighborville, where plants again work to defend their owners' lawns against hungry hordes of zombies. Players and their plants will battle it out with zombies on three free-roam regions, including the central location of Neighborville Town Center, the desert-like Mount Steep, and the lush Weirding Woods

The game will feature 20 fully customizable character classes, six online multiplayer modes including the new 4v4 Battle Arena in the Funderdome, plus the new Giddy Park social region, where there's a target range to test your plants' different abilities

All-time favorite characters such as Peashooter, Sunflower, Imp and Mech and Soldier will all be in the game. Players will also be surprised with the addition of a new character, the flame-blowing Snapdragon.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville will also host seasonal events such as the Lawn of Doom Festival this month.

"We’re thrilled for adventure-seeking neighbors around the world to fully experience our biggest and most accessible shooter ever with Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville... We set out to release an early edition of our game that was available for six weeks before today so we could polish performance, listen to feedback and establish a more stable launch. We thank our fans for joining us on this journey," PopCap game director Rob Davidson said of the release of the new game.

The game is priced at $39.99 for the standard edition, while the deluxe edition, which comes with two costumes for Peashooter and 80s Action Hero is priced at $49.99. The deluxe edition also features an exclusive Battle for Neighborville digital comic and 5 emojis.
