CES 2020: PowerVision to unveil hybrid smart drone PowerEgg X

The first waterproof drone is coming to customers this month.

Smart drones and virtual reality and augmented reality company PowerVision is about to launch a new intelligent device that can serve as an autonomous personal AI camera.

This new device is called the PowerEgg X and it will be flying its way into the annual Consumer Electronics Show starting Tuesday, January 7.

The PowerEgg X is a high-performance drone that can also be used as a handheld 3-axis AI camera. PowerVision named it the PowerEgg X as it is shaped like an egg when it’s not in use.

While in drone mode, the PowerEgg X uses its 4K/60fps camera, combined with tri-axial mechanical stability augmentation, to let users use it for highly dynamic aerial photography.

In addition, the PowerEgg X is also waterproof, which is uncommon among drones in the market.

When on personal AI camera mode, the PowerEgg X will employ its facial recognition and deep learning technology to make sure that the photo’s subject will always be at the center of the video frame even when the subject is moving such as when playing sports, dancing, or running.

In handheld gimbal camera mode, the PowerEgg X uses its three-axis mechanical-stability augmentation gimbal and the personal AI camera to capture users’ best moments while resisting vibration caused by external factors.

The PowerEgg X will be priced at $899 and it will be available after its debut on January 7. Customers can catch it at BestBuy.com, B&H Photo, Amazon.com and on PowerVision’s website.

CES attendees can witness how this smart drone camera works during the CES at booth no. 26415, South Hall of the at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The CES 2020 is coming up in a few days from now, so make sure to catch the latest updates on the biggest consumer electronics trade show at I4U News’ dedicated CES 2020 News Hub.
