Pocketalk to demo updated 2-way translation device at CES 2020

Translating texts and images has never been easier for travelers.

Travelers who are always on a quest for new adventures will be thrilled to discover a new translation device to help them understand the languages of the places they visit and to interact with the locals from those places.

Japan’s Pocketalk will be unveiling its 2020 model of its two-way translation device, which will be making an entrance into the United States, starting off at the Consumer Electronics Show tomorrow in Las Vegas. The trade show will run until Friday, January 10, and attendees can check out how the new Pocketalk device works.

It will retail at $299 and will be available in gold, white and black variants.

The 2020 Pocketalk has been updated to feature a smaller size, making it more compact and more easier to travel with. Despite its smaller size, the new Pocketalk now packs a larger touch screen, 16% larger than the previous model.

The new Pocketalk also comes with a camera that makes it easier for the device to recognize and translate texts. It also features one-button translation, which is perfect when you’re outdoors interacting with locals.

“Pocketalk was developed to connect cultures and create experiences for people that do not speak the same language… Our goal with the newest Pocketalk was to take into account the many different ways people communicate. We don't just use voice - we use visuals, we use currencies - all of these connect us closer together and with our newest model, we are providing the most dependable, thoughtful, all-encompassing device to form deeper connections without language as a barrier,” Pocketalk founder and CEO Noriyuki Matsuda said in a statement.

Pocketalk will be at Booth #42364 in The Sands, Halls A-D during the CES 2020 in Las Vegas.

The CES 2020 is coming up tomorrow, so make sure to catch the latest updates on the biggest consumer electronics trade show at I4U News’ dedicated CES 2020 News Hub.
