LG launches AI-powered LG ThinQ front-load washing machine at CES 2020

LG is rolling out its most advanced laundry solution to date.

LG Electronics has introduced a new smart solution for homeowners, which it describes as its most advanced innovation in laundry.

The new LG ThinQ front-load washing machine uses an Artificial Intelligent Direct Drive motor and LG's proprietary Proactive Customer Care service, which also employs artificial intelligence.

The washer, which LG called AI DD, uses artificial intelligence to detect the volume and weight of each load of laundry, as well as fabric type. Deep learning technology is employed as the AI DD washer compares the data gathered from laundry loads to more than 20 thousand data points linked to washer usage and optimal wash cycle settings.

This way, the LG AI DD washer will be able to detect a mixed load of t-shirts and jeans and program the wash cycle to use customized motions, temperatures, and times for an optimal wash, LG said.

This new washer by LG also boasts TurboWash 360 and 3D Multi Spray and to allow powerful jets to wash the clothes. The LG TWINWash feature is LG's solution to save time as users can use two washers at once.

In addition to its AI features, the LG ThinQ front-load washing machine can also be connected with Amazon Alexa via the LG ThinQ mobile app. This way, users can get notified through the app in case the washer is low on laundry supplies like detergent and fabric softener so they can reorder automatically and have the items delivered to their house.

CES attendees can witness how the new AI-powered LG ThinQ front-load washing machine works at booth #11100, Central Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center from today until Friday, January 10.
