CES 2020: CAT launches rugged smartphone Cat S32

This smartphone can sustain the harshest weather.

Bullitt Group, which manufactures mobile phones, audio products and other connected devices, has unveiled its latest smartphone offering, the Cat S32, at the CES 2020 in Las Vegas.

The Cat S32 is the latest addition to Bullitt’s line of Caterpillar Inc.-licensed products. All of Bullitt’s Cat phones are able to survive in different environments.

The Cat S32 is able to sustain all types of environments, including harsh weather outdoors. Its most impeccable features include its long battery life of 4,200mAh, its rugged body that is IP68 dust proof and waterproof, and its large and bright 5.5" HD+ 18x9 display that is visible even under bright sunlight. The screen is protected by a scratch resistant DragonTrail Pro Glass. The screen can be controlled even with wet fingers or when wearing gloves.

This phone runs on Android 10 (with upgrade to 11) and it sports a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. It also supports dual SIM capability: Nano SIM + microSD.

CAT said the Cat S32 has undergone a number of tests including multiple drops onto every side and corner. It can also sustain 35 minutes under 1.5 meters deep of water. Other tests included vibration and tumble tests and more.

"The Cat S32 is an incredibly tough device and a fantastic addition to our refreshed line-up of Cat smartphones, alongside the exceptionally thin-but-rugged Cat S52, giving our customers a real choice of products depending on the features they value most. In this generation of products we've upgraded and improved every feature while ensuring that the core Cat phones rugged credentials – reliably waterproof, dustproof, and built to survive drops – remain the focus," Bullitt’s Vice President for Product Portfolio Peter Cunningham said in a statement.

The Cat S32 will have a suggested retail price of €299.
