Trump buying $10 million Super Bowl ad spot to fuel reelection campaign

Trump will match the ad spot that Michael Bloomberg is ready to spend on.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign are kicking off the 2020 presidential race with a Super Bowl commercial, which the Trump team will be paying $10 million for, Politico reports, citing four sources.

Trump’s 60-second commercial will air during the Super Bowl on February 2. The media outlet said the TV ad could run for one straight minute or broken down into two 30-second ads.

“The president’s decision to stay aggressive and keep the campaign open after his first election gave us a huge head start on his reelection,” Brad Parscale, manager of the Trump campaign, reportedly told Politico.

“Now 300 days out we are throttling up. The president has built an awesome, high-performance, omnichannel machine and it’s time to give it some gas,” Parscale added.

News of Trump’s Super Bowl commercial came four days after Trump’s campaign team and the Republican National Committee disclosed that they raised a total of $463 million in 2019 for Trump’s campaign.

Trump’s commercial is expected to run early in the game, the time when viewership is at its highest, Politico added.

Trump’s Super Bowl commercial will be challenged by that of his rival, Michael R. Bloomberg. The Bloomberg CEO is also set to pay $10 million for a 60-second ad spot.

The 2020 Super Bowl, or Super Bowl LIV, will be taking place on Sunday, February 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
