Super Bowl 2020 Halftime Show: Shakira, J.Lo and Everything You Need to Know

Two award-winning artists will share the Super Bowl stage in February.

Shakira and Jennifer Lopez will literally own the world’s stage when the Super Bowl LIV arrives on February 2 with the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show has become the most anticipated portion of the Super Bowl since the 1960s. Previously, the National Football League only had marching bands for the halftime show, until the NFL introduced pop music acts like Michael Jackson, and the controversial acts like that of Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson.

In the last five years, the Super Bowl was graced by Maroon 5, Timberlake again, Lady Gaga, Coldplay with Beyoncé and Katy Perry.

This year, the Super Bowl Halftime Show will star Shakira alongside Jennifer Lopez. The 2020 Super Bowl will be held Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. It will be aired on FOX.

Pepsi, which has been producing the halftime show for years now, will be collaborating with the NFL and Roc Nation to bring Shakira and J.Lo together.

Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira, known for tracks like “Hips Don’t Lie,” is a multi-GRAMMY award winner. She has sold over 75 million records globally, including her latest album "El Dorado" that made it to the #1 spot on iTunes in 37 countries.

“I'm so honored to be taking on one of the world's biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist to represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world — and to top it off, on my birthday,” Shakira was quoted as saying.

“This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime,” Shakira added.

Jennifer Lopez is also a successful recording artist with over 75 million records sold worldwide. She has been nominated for both Golden Globe and GRAMMY awards.

"Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl… And now it's made even more special not only because it's the NFL's 100th season, but also because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can't wait to show what us girls can do on the world's biggest stage,” J.Lo said.
