5 Reasons to Stay Away from Samsung Galaxy Fold

Here are all the reasons why you should not buy Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Samsung Galaxy Fold is an ambitious device that is making headlines due to its design, size and features. But we believe you should not buy this device. Here are all the reasons you should not buy Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Don't Be an Early Adopter

Perhaps the biggest reason you should avoid buying Samsung Galaxy Fold is that the core technology used in the phone is still nascent, and it’s subject to a lot of improvements and evolution. This device has a hinge over which the entire folding mechanism depends on. These mechanics are almost always destined to fail. Samsung will certainly improve this technology in the future. But you should ask yourself this question: does this experimental device really worth my $1900? (yes, that’s the price of Galaxy Fold).

Fold is not Water or Dirt Resistant

Samsung Galaxy Fold is not water or dust resistant. That’s right. This $1900 could end up dead if even a drop of water goes into it. This is a deal breaker for me. And I’m sure all those people who want a phone which they could use easily without problems in daily life would also stay away from Fold.

Durability

Samsung Galaxy Fold is absolutely not durable. Even the phone’s manual in the box says that you should keep the phone away from magnetic strips like credit cards. The manual also warns users to not touch the phone too hard. These warnings show that this phone is not meant to last longer, especially in rough conditions. These days there’s no way you could keep your phone away from credit cards. And sometimes we touch and handle phones roughly. Samsung Galaxy Fold isn’t meant for real life.

Too Big

Samsung Galaxy Fold is too big for normal usage. It’d be awkard to hold this device close to your ear and call. Its size is of a normal tablet or iPad. However, Fold is good if you want to watch movies or videos. But again, a $1900 device just for watching videos or movies or reading books? There are tons of better alternatives in the market for your entertainment and reading needs.

Weak Design, Body

Detailed review videos of Samsung Galaxy Fold show that scratches, slight mishandling and dust could destroy the phone’s pixel and touch screen instantly. The phone’s hinges suck dirt, becoming unsmooth and faulty.
