Mario Kart Tour to roll out multiplayer mode beta to all users

All players will soon be able to race against their friends in a new beta that is on the way.

Straight from the success of the Mario Kart Tour’s multiplayer mode beta for Gold Pass members in December 2019, Nintendo has announced that it will be expanding the service to all players.

Mario Kart Tour is the smartphone version of the popular Mario Kart series for Nintendo’s gaming consoles. The app was launched in September 2019 and in just a month since its release, it had amassed almost 124 million downloads from the App Store and Google Play.

Nintendo subsequently launched a multiplayer option in December 2019 for users who purchased a Gold Pass, heeding to requests by players.

Multiplayer mode allows players to race against their friends, an option which was not previously available at the time of the game’s launch.

Now, Mario Kart Tour’s official Twitter account announced that a second multiplayer test is about to arrive, this time for all Mario Kart Tour players, regardless of whether or not they subscribed to the monthly Gold Pass, which costs $4.99 a month.

Mario Kart Tour for Android and iOS devices takes Mario and his friends on a world tour as they race around courses across real-world cities. The destinations that are inspired by cities in the real world will rotate every two weeks.

Players can steer and drift their karts with just one finger. To play Mario Kart Tour, you will be prompted to sign in to your Nintendo account. If you’re new to the Nintendo world, you can easily create an account when you open the Mario Kart Tour app.
