How to Fix Twitter App from Crashing on Android

Latest Twitter update causes crash on Android Devices

According to the latest reports from different trusted sources including Twitter itself, the recent update (version 8.28) does not seem to work as expected for android users.

If you are an Android user who is facing the problem with Twitter crashing, there is no need to panic as this can be fixed by following some simple steps.

The main reason behind Android crashes is due to automated updates of all apps on all Android devices, the earlier version of Twitter is working just fine even now (if somehow your Twitter app has not updated on its own).

According to a statement from Twitter spokesperson “We’re investigating a problem with the latest version of our Android app that causes it to crash immediately once it’s opened. If you use Twitter for Android, we suggest not updating it until we let you know it's fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience!”

How you can avoid Twitter crashing on your Android device?

In case your twitter has not updated and working as expected, the first thing to do is stopping the Twitter app from updating to the latest version.

To do so, open the twitter app in your Android device’s Play Store.

Tap on the Menu button of the application and un-check the auto-update feature.

That’s it, you can keep on using your Twitter without any issues. You can update it manually when a stable and confirmed version is made available by the Twitter development team.

How to fix your Twitter in case it has already updated to the latest version?

Twitter has just launched a new version that seems to solve the crashing issues for many users, but for others, it is still not working as expected.

At first, you can try to install the new update from Google Play Store.

If it works, you are done with fixing the issue. In case you are still facing issues even after the update. the only option left is to install an earlier stable version of Twitter.

Simply delete your Twitter app, download the earlier 8.24.1 version from the APK Mirror website .

Install this version again, and you can use your Twitter account without any trouble. Be sure you have switched off the automatic updates for this app. If the automatic update feature is still active you may have to repeat this whole process again and again.
