Pepsi is again challenging its biggest rival, Coca-Cola, with its official Super Bowl 2020 TV commercial that advertises the new Pepsi Zero Sugar, the challenger to Coke Zero.

The brand has just released its 30-second TV ad entitled "Zero Sugar. Done Right." for the Big Game on Sunday, February 2. It stars rap icon Missy Elliott and Grammy-Award winning breakout star H.E.R. The ad was co-produced by Timbaland.

The artists recreated the classic hit "Paint it Black” as they promote the new matte black Pepsi Zero Sugar can by singing the line "I See a Red Door and I Want it Painted Black.”

Following the release of the ad, Missy Elliott described H.E.R. as an artist with undeniable talent. “When the opportunity came up, to not just work together but collaborate and create something all our own, we had to make it happen. I called up Timbaland and Sean Bankhead, I got the best of the best to make sure we brought the noise and did Pepsi Zero Sugar right,” Missy Elliott said.

"Everything about this experience – from the music, to the shoot, to the collaboration with an icon like Missy – it was really special… Pepsi gave us the creative liberty and platform to create this song and the video, it's an honor and I think people will appreciate how real we tried to be with the final product,” H.E.R. said.

Pepsi is promising everyone in the United States a free Pepsi Zero Sugar drink if the Super Bowl LIV game ends in zero.

The 2020 Super Bowl, or Super Bowl LIV, will be taking place on Sunday, February 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
