Samsung introduces new flagship Galaxy S20, boasting full 5G lineup

It's the very first Samsung lineup to offer full 5G connectivity.

Samsung is ramping up its 5G offerings this year as the smartphone giant unveiled its newest flagship phone, the Galaxy S20.

The Galaxy S20 made its debut at Samsung’s Unpacked Event, where the company also introduced the revolutionary foldable Galaxy Z Flip, which gives customers that nostalgic dramatic feeling of hanging up calls with a flip of the phone.

Samsung’s release of the Galaxy S20 confirmed rumors that the new flagship phone is not the Galaxy S11 or the Note11, but the S20 to mark year 2020.

The S20 series, which comes in the entry level S20, the S20+ and the S20 Ultra, now offer a more refreshing lineup of colors to choose from: Cosmic Grey, Cloud Blue and Cloud Pink for the S20; Cosmic Grey, Cloud Blue and Cosmic Black for the S20+ and Cosmic Grey and Cosmic Black for the premium S20 Ultra.

The S20 series is Samsung’s very first lineup that offers full 5G connectivity. This way, users can enjoy watching YouTube videos on the fastest internet speed possible. With 5G, users can also experience enhanced video chatting.

Samsung said the Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra are the first devices to use both sub-6 and mmWave connectivity.

All three phones in the series also offer a brand-new camera setup that integrates artificial intelligence with Samsung’s image sensor to provide the most stunning picture and video quality ever. The cameras also boast a highly advanced zoom capability, combining Samsung’s Hybrid Optic Zoom and Super Resolution Zoom to let AI work its way in zooming photos so that when the subject is far away, users can zoom in closer than other phone cameras.

The Galaxy S20 packs a 10MP, Dual Pixel AF, F2.2(80˚) front camera with a triple camera setup at the back that includes an 12MP, F2.2(120˚) Ultra Wide camera, a 12MP, F1.8(79˚) Wide-angle camera and a 64MP, PDAF F2.0(76˚), OIS Telephoto camera.

The S20+ has the same 10MP, Dual Pixel AF, F2.2(80˚) front camera, but it has a quad camera system at the back with a 12MP, F2.2(120˚) Ultra Wide camera, a 12MP, F1.8(79˚) Super Speed Dual Pixel AF, OIS Wide-angle camera, a 64MP, PDAF, F2.0(76˚), OIS Telephoto camera, plus a DepthVision Camera.

Meanwhile, the S20 Ultra has the most advanced camera setup of them all. It has a front camera with a whopping 40MP, PDAF, F2.2(80˚) feature, a quad camera setup at the back with a 12MP, F2.2(120˚) Ultra-Wide camera, a 108MP, F1.8(79˚) PDAF Wide-angle camera, a 48MP, PDAF, F3.5(24˚), OISTelephoto camera, plus a DepthVision Camera.

In terms of battery capacity, the S20 is powered by a 4000mAh battery, the S20+ has a 4500mAh battery, while the S20 Ultra has a 5000mAh battery power.
