Ubisoft announced that there are plans to release a patch for the PC version of Assassin's Creed.

Apparently many Assassin's Creed PC users have encountered issues with the game. UbiSoft wants to address these issues and also plans to remove support for DX10.1 in order to rework its implementation. The very short announcement can be read here. Via StrategyInformer.
