More fuel for the Apple rumor fire has surfaced today. Over the weekend it appears that stocks of the 8GB iPhone have gone the way of the Dodo on both the UK and U.S. Apple stores.

All providers in the UK for the iPhone are still reporting the 8GB model as out of stock or unavailable. However, some stores, like O2 have reported 16GB iPhone models in stock. So the speculation is that Apple won’t allow there to be no stock of its fast selling iPhone’s for the month or so before the rumored launch of the 3G iPhone at WWDC.

This fact leaves some to believe that the 3G iPhone may show up sooner and that Apple could possibly be looking to unveil a portable game console at WWDC 2008 to go along with that patent that surfaced several months back for an Apple game system. Personally, I think we won’t see a new iPhone till WWDC, only time will tell.
